About the Flute Design

Our Pine Old-Style Flute is one of our most requested designs. Featuring a 5-hole layout, these flutes play the same notes as a standard 6-hole flute and are compatible with all standard fingering techniques.

Each flute features:

• An open mouthpiece (like traditional river cane flutes), allowing the player to gently press their lips against the flute and blow without placing their mouth over a small airway hole.

• Greater breath control and reduced risk of "wetting out."

• A simple flat block on top.

• A natural oil-wax finish—never lacquer—to preserve tone and protect the wood.

Tuning Options & Instructions

These flutes come in the key of high B, tuned to 440Hz by default. However, if you prefer 432Hz or 528Hz tuning, simply leave a note in your order.
