From Tradition to Innovation

For over three decades, I’ve refined the design, tuning, and voice of every Blue Bear flute. The Modern Series brings those same designs into a new form - one that allows great consistency, expanded possibilities, and access for more players.

Over the years, I’ve been asked to offer more accessible options and to create instruments that aren’t always practical to produce by hand. The Modern Series is my answer to that! Built from my original designs, using a different method to expand what’s possible while preserving the tonal character and playability my flutes are known for.

These instruments make it possible to explore new configurations, consistent builds, and designs that would otherwise require a significant investment of time to produce in wood.

My handcrafted wooden flutes remain the heart of my work. Each one is individually shaped, tuned, tested and finished by hand, carrying a level of character, warmth, and connection that only natural materials can provide. They represent the highest expression of what a Native American style flute can be.

The Modern Series does not replace that tradition—it simply offers another way to experience the same designs.
