Each Googol flute is tuned to the minor pentatonic scale of G, producing the warm, soulful sound that has made Native American style flutes beloved around the world.
The name “Googol” comes from the huge number it represents — symbolizing my hope to offer enough authentic, handcrafted flutes to balance out the countless mass-produced “imported” flutes being sold today. These are real, handmade instruments, made with care and purpose.
Creating an affordable, sustainable, and high-quality flute has been my dream since the first time I saw mass-produced flutes mislabeled as “Native American.” The Googol flute fulfills that dream.
Handcrafted from sustainably grown American pine, each flute is about 23 inches (58 cm) long and 1½ inches (36 mm) in diameter. It features a simple block tied with durable nylon cord and a natural oil-and-wax finish that preserves tone and enhances the pine’s natural beauty.
These flutes are made in-house by me and my family in our Family workshop. Pine produces a wonderfully resonant, traditional tone and has been used in Native American style flute making for generations. Each flute is custom made to order and can even be paired with an optional custom totem of your choice.
